Rivendell on 64studioRivendell is a radio broadcasting application written by broadcasters for broadcasters. http://www.rivendellaudio.org/ They have an excellent Wiki, with a very detailed Debian etch install page, most of which you'll find already done on the 64studio install. The only problem is that they do not have 64bit install packages, so I sourced some... Add the correct repositories:
64bit
Install mysql-server using your favourite method. Only after MySQL is installed and running, now mark and install the rivendell package, and all it's dependencies. You must use your current audio user as the Rivendell user, you do not need to create a new user for rivendell. Now follow the Wiki from the heading Install Rivendell You can find detailed setup info for your hardware from the wiki main page Do not expect Rivendell to "just play" from the start. It is not a media player, but a powerful broadcasting platform. It has a slight learning curve, but the result is an app that I use exclusively as my play out platform for live shows. |
