Opera vs. Mozilla? weight in,

Just I question to the community?
Who uses Mozilla (i.e. Firefox, iceweasel etc.) and who uses Opera? anyone..?

I myself have used Opera for several years, since version 4.X...(yes I paid for it :(...but loved every minute).

I have truely tried firefox etc, and really enjoy it (Mozilla makes a great browser),,,but always seemed to gravitate back to Opera almost instantly. Some features Firefox can't duplicate. (or i haven't found the right plugin/extension yet). Either way Opera is my choice hands down.

Anyways just asking what everyone is using?

Thanks
MiCK

fox - weasel

I use the weasel on my 64studio box at home, and at work I use the fox where I can. IE only recently included the tabbed browsing feature... And they are not copying anyone of course...

To tell the truth, never really tried Opera. Got on the Firefox wagon as soon as it started rolling.

PS: It seems there is no Opera for linux AMD64 version available... That kills it for me right there :-(

64-bit version is on it's way

refer to this forum page for more info:

but in all fairness i have been tinkering with iceweasel and getting it to do most of the opera things...missing a couple of key features...
cheers

Have got Iceweasel doing

Have got Iceweasel doing everything Opera does. With four key extensions and setting them up correctly I have Iceweasel doing what Opera does. (just an update)

firefox versus Iceweasel

Linux For Human Beings
I dont seem to find where to be able to keep my tabs reconnecting in Iceweasel, I had that option in Firefox.
Is it available in Iceweasel
well found the answer myself
goto edit/preference/privacy
tick this 2
always clear my private data when i close Iceweasel
ask me before clearing private data
then click on settings
in clear private settings
tick all
except Browsing history
that will open u last tabs when restarting iceweasel
note after a reboot easeweasel dident keep the tabs saved
so maybe it dont exist in iceweasel

honestly...

any decent browser will do for me in a 64studio install. i'm not on the internet tons while running 64studio and when i am, it is for a very specific purpose (download a music file or program, etc), so i only need basic functionality. any of these browsers i think would do. weasel is familiar and has nice functionality, but it is really a bonus and in the end i don't care. i don't even have it set up and tweaked like i do firefox 3.0 for my ubuntu hardy install (main O/S).

minimal browsing in 64studio for me as well.

I used Opera very early on, and later came to love mouse gestures and tabs. In the last few years I seem to have gravitated to Firefox/Iceweasel for most of my use. I keep multiple machines, and the 64studio one is rather dedicated to music. I do all of my casual browsing/docs/email on other ones. They are networked, so it's easy enough to transfer files or VNC/NX into another one to check email if I'm too lazy to leave the basement...

I keep some of them bleeding edge, and update them constantly. I want 64studio to be stable, so I am also happy with it _not_ chasing the latest and greatest of everything.

update

after have tried iceweasel and getting it to mimic opera with a few extensions...almost a month later i went back to opera and now it is permanently my default browser. i too enjoy stable and foremost security...there there have been security issues with mozilla...(all fixed of coarse).

if you enjoy speed, whether just surfing for pleasure or what, then try out opera.
